Kim started in Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center’s dining services department in 2006. In 2012 she transferred to nursing and currently works as a resident assistant at Cedar Bay East assisted living. “When I started at Cedar Community I was only 16 and still in high school. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do yet career-wise. After working in the kitchen and closely with residents, I decided I wanted to give CNA a try. It turns out I really enjoy it!

“I worked at two other facilities while still working in the kitchen. I personally created a ‘family’ at Cedar Community, though, and so I preferred to stay at Cedar Community. I personally feel like I am making a difference in residents’ lives. My advice is to just be open to your options and do what’s best for you!”
